Kindergarten Study
The focus of Kindergarten Studies project is the development of self-regulation and social competence in kindergarten children. Currently, we work alongside private and public schools in the DMV (DC, ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½, Virginia) area and involve kindergarten students, their parents, and their teachers in our research. The general topics we investigate include: a) how children²ÝÝ®´«Ã½™s temperament, social storytelling, and ability to understand others²ÝÝ®´«Ã½™ emotions and beliefs relate to effective social interactions, b) how to interpret measures of children using a multi-rater and multi-method approach, and c) how children²ÝÝ®´«Ã½™s executive functions, emotion understanding, and temperament styles relate to their readiness for school.
